TEMA: VERSO LA FINE DELL’ UMANITA?

È la prima volta, nella sua lunga storia, che l’umanità si trova in pericolo di
scomparsa, forse inevitabile, a causa dell’attività degli umani.
Fino a ieri eravamo concentrati sulle crescente minacce ecologiche.
L’inquinamento dell’aria, dell’acqua, dei mari e della natura, il riscaldamento
climatico globale e i cambiamenti climatici hanno raggiunto livelli non
più sostenibili. È in gioco la sopravvivenza degli umani.
Dal 24 febbraio 2022, l'esistenza del pianeta Terra è addirittura minacciata
dallo scoppio di una guerra nucleare! Un rischio che avevamo dimenticato,
dalla fine della guerra fredda.
Con questo ritorno del tragico, l'umanità è in pericolo. In attesa che
arrivi il giorno del giudizio universale, deve fare i conti con sé stessa
e con la sua storia. Deve comprendere che non è solo una questione
ambientale ma è soprattutto geopolitica, politica, economica e sociale.
Su scala globale.
Disuguaglianza, diritti violati, demografia, migrazione, povertà,
pandemie, guerre, lotte di potere geopolitiche ed egemonie,
dittature, disinformazione, ignoranza, sono tutte questioni aperte e
in grado di produrre sconvolgimenti mondiali nel giro di breve tempo.
L’umanità deve agire e farlo anche in fretta.
Gli esseri umani forgiano il proprio destino.
1-SCADENZA d’invio delle vignette e del formulario: 1° giugno 2022
2-PARTECIPAZIONE: Concorso aperto a tutti vignettisti specializzati
3-OPERE: Ogni partecipante può proporre da 1, massimo 2 opere
realizzate negli ultimi anni, ma non premiate o presentate in altri concorsi.
Le opere dovrebbero essere preferibilmente senza testo.
Se c’è un testo, deve essere accompagnato da una traduzione in inglese
o in italiano.
4-INVIO DELLE VIGNETTE e del modulo di iscrizione:

- Il modulo di iscrizione deve essere compilato per intero per consentire
l'esposizione e la pubblicazione delle opere e dei CV,
nonché il contatto con gli autori;
- Le opere allegate devono essere inviate in formato elettronico,
in alta risoluzione, in formato JPEG, TIFF o PNG.
Risoluzione minima di 300 dpi, in formato JPG o TIFF
nella massima qualità.
Attenzione: Le iscrizioni che non soddisfano i requisiti (punti 1, 2, 3 e 4) saranno eliminate. |
5-SELEZIONE DELLE OPERE
Un pre-giuria selezionerà i 55 semi-finalisti
Una giuria internazionale, composta da vignettisti e giornalisti internazionali
e presieduta da Thierry Vissol, direttore della Libex, selezionerà i 3 vincitori,
e i 10 disegni che meritano una menzione speciale.
- e le 55 opere che saranno esposte nel chiostro grande del Monastero di
San Benedetto a Conversano (BA - Italia) e pubblicate
in un catalogo stampato a colori.
6-PREMIO Libex - Fondazione Giuseppe di Vagno (1889-1921).
1° premio: € 600,00
2° premio: € 400,00
3° premio: € 200,00
Le dieci prime vignette scelte dalla giuria saranno anche
pubblicate come cartoline.
7-PREMIAZIONE E MOSTRA
La cerimonia di premiazione avrà luogo il 26 settembre 2022
in occasione dell'apertura della XVII edizione del Festival Lector In Fabula.
Se le condizioni di sicurezza lo permettono, la cerimonia di premiazione
avrà luogo in presenza dei 3 artisti vincitori.
La Fondazione Giuseppe Di Vagno coprirà le spese di viaggio
e alloggio dei vincitori.
8-MOSTRA E CATALOGO
Le 55 opere semifinaliste saranno esposte nel chiostro grande del
Monastero di San Benedetto a Conversano (BA - Italia) e pubblicate
in un catalogo stampato a colori.
9-DIRITTI DELLE OPERE MANDATE
Gli autori, rispondendo all’invito, cedono al Centro Libex-Fondazione
Giuseppe Di Vagno (1889-1921) il diritto non esclusivo di pubblicare
le opere su qualsiasi supporto a scopo promozionale, senza
rivendicare alcun diritto di copyright o di riproduzione.

THEME: TOWARDS THE END OF HUMANITY?

For the first time in its long history, humanity is in increasing, perhaps inevitable, danger of extinction as a result of human activity.
Until yesterday, we were focused on the growing ecological threats. Air, water, sea and nature pollution, global warming and climate change have reached unsustainable levels. Human survival is at stake.
Since 24 February 2022, the existence of planet Earth is once again threatened by the outbreak of a nuclear war! A risk we had forgotten since the end of the Cold War.
With this return of tragic times, humanity may collapse. While waiting a doomsday scenario, humans must reconcile with themselves and with their history. They must understand that this is not only an environmental issue but above all a geopolitical, political, economic and social issues. On a global scale.
Inequality, violated rights, demography, migration, poverty, pandemics, wars, geopolitical power struggles and hegemonies, dictatorships, misinformation, ignorance, are all open issues that can produce world upheavals in a short time.
Humanity must act, and act quickly. Humans are their own fate.
1- DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF Cartoons: 1 June 2022.
2- PARTICIPATION: Open competition to all specialized cartoonists.
3- CARTOONS: Each participant can propose 1 and maximum 2 works realized during the last years, but not awarded or presented in other competitions.
– The works should preferably be without text. If a text is required, it must be accompanied by a translation into English or Italian.
4- SUBMISSION of Cartoons and entry form:
– Exclusively via: https://eu.jotform.com/myforms/?path=%2Fmyforms
– The entry form must be completed in full in order to allow the exhibition and publication of the cartoons and CV, as well as ensure contacts with the authors.
– The attached works must be sent in electronic format, in high definition, in JPEG, TIFF or PNG format. Minimum resolution of 300 dpi, in JPG or TIFF format in maximum quality.
Attention: Entries that do not meet the requirements (articles 1, 2, 3 and 4) will be eliminated.
5- SELECTION OF cartoons:
– A pre-jury will select the 55 semifinalists
– An international jury, made up of international cartoonists, journalists and chaired by Thierry Vissol, the director of Libex, will select three winners, and the 10 cartoons with an honorable mention.
6- Libex PRIZE – Giuseppe di Vagno Foundation (1889-1921).
• 1st prize: € 600,00
• 2nd prize: € 400,00
• 3rd prize: € 200,00
• The ten first cartoons selected by the Jury will also be published as postcards.
7- AWARD CEREMONY:
– The award ceremony will take place on the 26th of September 2022 on the occasion of the closing of the 18th edition of the Festival Lector In Fabula.
– If security conditions permit, the award ceremony will take place in the presence of the winning artists.
– Travel and accommodation expenses of the winners will be covered by the Giuseppe Di Vagno Foundation.
8- EXHIBITION & CATALOGUE:
The 55 semifinalists’ cartoons will be exhibited in the cloister of the Monastery of San Benedetto in Conversano (BA – Italy) and published in a full-colour printed catalogue.
9- RIGHTS OF THE SUBMITTED WORKS:
By participating in the competition, the authors transfer to the Centre Libex-Fondazione Giuseppe Di Vagno (1889-1921) the non-exclusive right to publish the works on any medium for promotional purposes, without claiming any copyright or reproduction rights.
