New York, settembre 2019 - La Grady Alexis Gallery di El Taller Latino Americano è lieta di presentare "EmPOWER! Images For Social Justice", una serie di opere d'arte create dalla pluripremiata artista Andrea Arroyo in risposta a pressanti temi globali.
Le opere di EmPOWER! affrontano questioni di giustizia sociale, onorando lo spirito di pacifica e creativa resistenza politica in tutto il mondo.
La mostra presenta 30 immagini di impatto che affrontano temi di attualità, come l'immigrazione, le separazioni familiari, la violenza armata, la discriminazione razziale, la crisi ambientale, le donne e le questioni LGBTQI.
Le opere che provocano il pensiero di Arroyo portano l'attenzione su questioni urgenti, mirando al contempo a creare una conversazione a più livelli che collega l'arte, la giustizia sociale e la comunità.
Le opere sono apparse in pubblicazioni come The Nation, The Manhattan Times, Posters for Change, Resist! Viceversa, ecc. e alcuni lavori sono stati esposti anche a livello internazionale.
Le immagini in mostra includono "Me Too", pubblicato a livello internazionale e premiato con il primo premio al concorso di arte politica Ranan Lurie delle Nazioni Unite, "I diritti delle donne sono diritti umani", premiato con il premio "Political Satire" alla Biennale del 2019 a Cuba, "Build Love Not Walls" e "Nurture Nature.
La signora Arroyo è conosciuta soprattutto per i suoi quadri lirici e le installazioni site-specific che si concentrano su donne e storie di donne, questa è la prima volta che l'artista presenta una mostra personale delle sue illustrazioni politiche.
Sull'artista: Andrea Arroyo è un artista pluripremiato che lavora in una serie di media che includono arte pubblica, pittura, illustrazione e installazioni site-specific.
Il suo lavoro è esposto a livello internazionale ed è presente in collezioni private, aziendali e pubbliche in tutto il mondo.
L'arte pubblica e le commissioni includono progetti per il New York Restoration Project, El Museo del Barrio, The Morris-Jumel Mansion Museum, New York Women Foundation, The International Museum of Women, The MTA/New York Subway, The NY School Construction Authority, e The Women's Rights National Historical Park.

New York, September 2019.- The Grady Alexis Gallery at El Taller Latino Americano is pleased to present “EmPOWER! Images For Social Justice”, a series of artworks created by award-winning artist Andrea Arroyo in response to pressing global topics.
The artworks in EmPOWER! address social justice issues, while honoring the spirit of peaceful, creative political resistance throughout the world.
The exhibition features 30 impactful images addressing current topics, such as immigration, family separations, gun violence, race discrimination, the environmental crisis, Women and LGBTQI issues.
Arroyo’s thought provoking works bring attention to pressing issues while aiming to create a multi-level conversation that bridges art, social justice and community.
The works have appeared in publications such as The Nation, The Manhattan Times, Posters for Change, Resist! Viceversa, etc., and some works have been also exhibited internationally.
Images in the exhibition include “Me Too” published internationally and awarded First Prize in the United Nations’ Ranan Lurie Political Art Contest, “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights” awarded the “Political Satire” award at the 2019 Biennial in Cuba, “Build Love Not Walls” and “Nurture Nature.”
Ms. Arroyo is best know for her lyrical paintings and site-specific installations focusing of women and women’s stories, this is the first time the artist presents a solo exhibition of her political illustrations.
About the artist: Andrea Arroyo is an award-winning artist working in a range of media including public art, painting, illustration and site-specific installation.
Her work is exhibited internationally and is in private, corporate and public collections around the world.
