"A Peste"

Cau Gomez, dal Brasile, ha vinto il Gran Premio del 23° Festival PortoCartoon-World, organizzato dal Museo della Stampa Portoghese con il tema SALUTE. L'opera vincitrice si intitola "A Peste" ed è una metafora di humor nero sulle minacce dei tempi attuali.

Il secondo premio è stato assegnato a Tony Tasco, dal Belgio, e il terzo a Luis Fernando Echeverri (Fernando Pica), dalla Colombia.

La qualità delle opere ha portato la giuria internazionale ad assegnare 27 menzioni d'onore ad artisti di diversi paesi come Germania, Arabia Saudita, Argentina, Belgio, Brasile, Bulgaria, Cina, Spagna, Francia, Iran, Italia, Portogallo e Turchia.

L'edizione di quest'anno comprendeva due premi speciali di caricatura sulle figure di Martin Luther King, premio Nobel per la pace, assassinato nel 1968, e Maria João Pires, il cui "modo di suonare il pianoforte è stato spesso descritto come magico, accattivante e profondamente poetico" (Deutsche Grammophon).

I vincitori sono stati, rispettivamente, Shankar Pamarthy, dall'India e Aurélio Mesquita (Portogallo). Shankar Pamarthy ha vinto anche il 2° Premio Speciale di Caricatura Maria João Pires.

La mostra del Premio Maria João Pires sarà al Teatro Constantino Nery, Matosinhos, dal 17 settembre al 31 ottobre, secondo la politica di decentralizzazione delle attività del Museo Portoghese della Stampa.

I vincitori del 23° PortoCartoon riceveranno i trofei (disegnati da Siza Vieira) e i premi durante la cerimonia di apertura della mostra, che avrà luogo presso il Museo Portoghese della Stampa situato a Porto, in una data che sarà annunciata a tempo debito.

   Maria João Pires premeiam Índia e Portugal

CAU GOMEZ, do Brasil, conquistou o Grande Prémio do 23º PortoCartoon-World Festival, organizado pelo Museu Nacional da Imprensa e subordinado ao tema SAÚDE (3ª ODS da ONU). 

A obra vencedora intitula-se “A Peste” e constitui uma metáfora de humor negro sobre as ameaças do tempo presente.

 O Segundo Prémio foi atribuído a TONY TASCO, da Bélgica, e o Terceiro a LUIS FERNANDO ECHEVERRI (Fernando Pica), da Colômbia.

A qualidade dos trabalhos, levou o júri internacional a atribuir ainda 27 Menções Honrosas a artistas de diferentes países  como Alemanha, Arábia Saudita, Argentina, Bélgica, Brasil, Bulgária, China, Espanha, França, Irão, Itália, Portugal e Turquia.

prémios à Índia e a Portugal

A edição deste ano contemplou dois Prémios Especiais de Caricatura centrados nas figuras de Martin Luther King, Nobel da Paz, assassinado em 1968. e Maria João Pires, cuja “forma de tocar piano tem sido frequentemente descrita como mágica, cativante e profundamente poética" (Deutsche Grammophon).

Os vencedores foram, respetivamente, SHANKAR PAMARTHY, da Índia  e  AURÉLIO MESQUITA (Portugal). 

Shankar Pamarthy foi também galardoado com o 2º Prémio Especial de Caricatura Maria João Pires.

A exposição do Prémio Maria João Pires ficará patente no Teatro Constantino Nery, Matosinhos, de 17 de setembro a 31 de outubro, no quadro da descentralização das atividades do Museu Nacional da Imprensa.

Os vencedores do 23º PortoCartoon receberão os troféus (desenhados por Siza Vieira) e os Prémios durante a cerimónia de abertura da exposição, que decorrerá nas instalações do Museu Nacional da Imprensa e noutros locais do Grande Porto, em data a anunciar oportunamente.

Cau Gomez, from Brazil, won the Grand Prize of the 23rd PortoCartoon-World Festival, organized by the Portuguese Printing Press Museum with the theme HEALTH (as per the 3rd UN ODS). The winning work is entitled “A Peste” (The Plague) and is a black humor metaphor about the threats of the present times.

The Second Prize was awarded to Tony Tasco, from Belgium, and the third was to Luis Fernando Echeverri (Fernando Pica), from Colombia.

The quality of the work led the international jury to award 27 Honorable Mentions to artists from different countries such as Germany, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Spain, France, Iran, Italy, Portugal and Turkey.

The winners were, respectively, Shankar Pamarthy, from India and Aurélio Mesquita (Portugal). Shankar Pamarthy was also won the 2nd Maria João Pires Special Caricature Award.

The Maria João Pires Prize exhibition will be at Teatro Constantino Nery, Matosinhos, from September 17 to October 31, as per the decentralization policy of the Portuguese Printing Press Museum activities.

The winners of the 23rd PortoCartoon will receive the trophies (designed by Siza Vieira) and the Awards during the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which will take place at the Portuguese Printing Press Museum located in Porto, on a date to be announced in due time.
