In early 2018, cartoonist Fadi Abou Hassan /FadiToOn invited cartoonists from all over the world to participate in the international cartooning competition "A Colorful Human World".



The competition received 1385 entries from 496 cartoonists, 81countries and a panel jury of 18 professionals selected two Grand Prizes and 4 runners up. The winners and a selection of the best cartoons will be on show at The Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery in December.

"The world can at times seem very grey and depressing. There is always some "other" to blame for everything and situations may appear hopeless. Cartoonists must convey this but they can also look for hope and colour. This was a competition to make us forget to be scared and find different ways of (re)connecting. Cartooning at its finest is a spring of hope. It gives us ways to critically rethink and find alternatives to bridge the "us" and "them". We get to see the human in the other" says Fadi Abou Hassan.

The exhibition is a collaboration between Cartoon Home Newtork International and the Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery and will show all winners and shortlisted works.


All'inizio del 2018, il cartoonist Fadi Abou Hassan /FadiToOn ha invitato disegnatori di tutto il mondo a partecipare al concorso internazionale di cartooning "A Colorful Human World".

Il concorso ha ricevuto 1385 opere di 496 fumettisti, 81 paesi e una giuria di 18 professionisti ha selezionato due Gran Premi e 4 concorrenti. I vincitori e una selezione dei migliori cartoni animati saranno in mostra alla Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery a dicembre.

"Il mondo a volte può sembrare molto grigio e deprimente. C'è sempre qualche "altro" da incolpare per tutto e le situazioni possono sembrare senza speranza. I fumettisti devono trasmetterlo, ma possono anche cercare la speranza e il colore. Questa è stata una competizione per farci dimenticare di essere spaventati e trovare modi diversi di (ri)connettersi. Il cartooning al suo meglio è una sorgente di speranza. Ci dà la possibilità di ripensare criticamente e trovare alternative per collegare il "noi" e il "loro". Possiamo vedere l'umano nell'altro" dice Fadi Abou Hassan.

La mostra è una collaborazione tra Cartoon Home Network International e la Norwegian Cartoonist Gallery e mostrerà tutti i vincitori e le opere selezionate.
